Created for a deep river canyon, next to an old and redundant mill [renovated for additional guest accommodation] in a private garden.
From a need and wish to connect with a hillside meadow and woodland beyond whilst also providing a family-friendly "wow-factor" feature Rope Bridge within the back garden.
Structured between a garden deck and retaining wall location and a substantial tree on structural steel cables.
Project included a blend to existing deck and steps at the garden end and the introduction of a new 'floating' access deck-platform and step around the tree.
Our craftsmen teams include full experience and certification to work at significant height with tools and creativity from climbing ropes and harness. Our teams are trained and certificated with all our climbing kits LOLER tested and certificated every 6 months.
Often we design a project that allows us to set up temporary [and structural] lines - essential a horizontal Zip Line - to work from and move equipment/materials both easily and safely. This knowledge and experience means that we are really efficient with site time [quick in and quick out] with known methods and procedures - we have solutions, rather than a "scratching of heads" trying to work things out.
Rope Bridge structural steel cables
…set across the river canyon in 12mm 7/19 galvanised steel cable with 4.75T bow ring shackles and a 22mm eye-to-eye rigging screw to future proof tensioning. The cables are held apart and parallel using spacer beams set and sealed in on the cable with aluminium ferrules.

…in 24mm soft-to-the-touch polyhemp with a 5 tonne breaking load forming rope lines underneath the Rope Bridge, mid-height and balustrade height through the length of the Rope Bridge.

…using 140mm diameter Glulam round timbers, scalloped and bolted with stainless steel 16mm coach bolts, all in-bound on the 12mm galvanised steel cables and held in place with sealed stainless steel ferrules.
